KNOWING

I just watched "Knowing" on DVD with Nicolas Cage. WOW. Thats about all I can say. The movie is a definite must if you have not seen it yet. It is packed full of suspense, action, thrill, love, and sci-fi all in one movie! I would have thought it was an M. Night Shyamalan flick. It was that good! Now it was a definite fiction flick yet totally entertaining. I even had to peek through my fingers a couple times. The child actor Chandler Canterbury is a great little actor. I think we will see great things from him. Nic was pretty typical from the way he talks to his cute little elvis stance, but he was believable. It left me heartbroken as a parent, reminded me of the disappointing way of the world, but hopeful in what the rapture might be like as a christ follower. Huh. Very interesting film.

Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs

Today my 3kids and I went to the theater to see the third Ice Age movie. Well another good job by Blue Sky and Fox in the world of children's movies. This movie was entertaining for my 5, 9, and 13 year olds, the whole time. They giggled and awwed the entire length of the film along with 99% of the kids and parents in the theater. Again, Scrat was the hit with his endless chase of the ever popular Acorn, but to his demise he ends up meeting Scratte, a lovely female after the same acorn... Crash and Eddie also made my kids laugh quite a bit. Sid longed to become a parent with the impending birth of Manny and Ellie's baby so he sets off to find a family of his own. Happening upon three dinosaur eggs sets this movie in motion as the real mom comes into play. As the team sets off to rescue Sid from the now upset momma dinosaur they meet a weasel named Buck who is the essence of an Indiana Jones character. It was fun to watch, vibrant colors and witty humor all make this a definite catch in my book. Worth it to see in the theater on the big screen!

The Hangover

Since I'm on a review kick - trying to catch up with my goals... This movie was HILARIOUS! I have not been in a movie where the whole theater was laughing their butts off the whole time! My gut hurt from laughing so hard! It was never predictable, not even because of the trailers. It was THAT good. Best movie I've seen this season so far. Until the next Twilight movie New Moon comes out. lol.... Sorry. All the guys did a superb job acting and adapting. It was great to see Tyson in a cameo appearance. It was sad to see a beautiful classic Mercedes get beat up, and my poor Bradley's face too for that matter. Losing the best man after getting slipped rufies, but then never really losing him at all sends these guys on an intense scavenger hunt full of fast and sometimes stolen cars, a few miscellaneous animals - not the vegas-ites, and a baby. In the end there are two marraiges, a saved marraige, and a discovered manhood. A+ for this movie! Definitely getting added to my library when its released on dvd.

Transformers II - Revenge of the Fallen

OK so I am a huge fan of these live action movies that come from the cartoons that played when I was a kid. Transformers, IRON MAN, Hulk, Wolverine and all of them. Transformers II was just as good as the first movie. I would not say it was better. It had a lot more humor this time with the 'twins' added as new autobots. Shia's character was always a little mixed up, the lines were really choppy. Overall he did a great job at it. Meagan Fox - well she has looks and a great attitude when she acts. I'm a girl so I say this carefully - she's hot and I'm jealous! Come on, she gets to kiss Shia! Ok, honestly I'd like a part that involved me kissing Josh Duhamel. I'll stop now. Movie was great - a definite buy on Blue Ray disc. A must see in the theater first!

YEAR ONE - MOVIE REVIEW

Well I have to say - I took my 13 year old to see this movie today. Year one with Jack Black was truly a disappointment. I have seen all of his movies and I truly think the guy has talent. But I am so glad that I waited to see this one unitl I had a couple free Regal Crown Club rewards movie vouchers for this one. It was only slightly funny, mostly irreverent humor with some poop eating too. Really? My 13 year old son did not even feel like staying for it. Ugh - this would be a Red Box $1 rental only if you've seen everything else. Make sure you have alcohol, a strong stomach and great friends who are willing to stick it out for a goofy movie night... sorry Jack.

another funny pic from a few days ago....

Interesting times... on Twitpic

the actual bikini dance video

the bikini dance on you tube....

Rob Defranco, Peter Facinelli

Share photos on twitter with Twitpic
So today in Hollywood, Rob Defranco fulfilled on a lost bet against Peter Facinelli. Yes - that would be Rob in the woman's bikini. Wow - I have to say - he's hot. Anyway, Peter Facinelli was on site to MC the dance and the glory that comes with knowing that fans and twilighters around the world helped him win the bet by signing up to follow him on Twitter. After doing a dance to Beyonce's 'All the Single Ladies', the boys made their way to Affliction in LA for an autograph session. All of this today was ultimately done to benefit the Reeve Foundation. A true success indeed. Well done guys!

Busy weekend

So here we are - blogging. guess this is more like a journal for me then.

For my first blog I will tell you about our weekend. Friday night I went to dinner with a friend and then we went to see the Proposal, HILARIOUS movie! Great date movie - and you'll laugh your butt off... some other friends talked me into then heading out to the new Happy Days club. It was kinda dead in the dance area part, but then we took our free $5 voucher to the blackjack table for my first experience doing that. lol, walked in that night with $10. left with $44. I'd say that since I only played for 15 minutes, I did pretty good... reimbursed what I'd spent that nite anyways!

This weekend we concentrated on cleaning out and packing up the kids rooms for our move. This entailed in a lot of garbage and donations. It is amazing how much crap kids store up. We ended up with one tote of books from the boys room, and one tote of toys/RC cars for them too. Lauren on the other hand has around 5 boxes of stuffed animals, dolls, and a tote of barbie/disney princess toys for her lifesize dollhouse. yikes!

I came up with a new plan for the boys as far as them trying to keep their clothes picked up, folded and organized. They have so much, yet every morning its "I dont have anything to wear!" huh, well I guess I know where they get that from. I went out and bought them those 6 shelf cloth organizers that hang from your closet (like the shoe ones - but for sweaters etc). Then they were told to coordinate one day of clothes in each opening. all the other clothes went into garbage bags for donations. Now if I can just do the same thing for my clothes.... yeah not so much!

then we took off to NW trek for the afternoon. That was fun. We have the granddaddy of memberships so we took our friends family with us. To top that trip off - multicare was hosting Slugfest.... yes slugs.... yuck. But the activities for the kids were fun, and we even got to see people dress up in tarps like slugs and wiggle their way across a blue slimy tarp on the ground in a race to the finish line! i have pics attached here of some of the animals and on facebook too...

I ended the night out with two of my cousins at the longhorn in Auburn for the dueling pianos. That place is so fun. Not to mention it was my youngest cousin Stacy's first time at a bar! Tiff toughed it out seeing how she and her boyfriend were getting pretty tired after running in the marathon saturday morning in Seattle. Good job guys - BTW! I'm totally impressed....

Sunday wrapped up with more cleaning at home, and the thought that maybe I can find some Boot Camp for Jason for the summer.... huh.... any suggestions? lol - now, I shall retreat to bed. Best wishes all, and I bid you a good night.
